Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026
The agreement
By downloading or using Tract you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
License
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Tract on Macs you own or control. You don't get the right to resell, sublicense, decompile, or reverse-engineer the app.
Acceptable use
- Don't use Tract to record people without their consent in jurisdictions where that's illegal. Local law applies — you are responsible.
- Don't use Tract for anything unlawful or that violates someone else's rights.
- Don't attempt to disable, circumvent, or tamper with the app's licensing or update mechanisms.
Pricing
Tract is free to use while it’s in beta. We may introduce paid plans in the future. If we do, we’ll make the pricing and terms clear before you’re ever charged, and anything you can already do will stay available.
Your content
Anything you transcribe or type stays on your Mac. You own it. We don't and can't access it.
No warranty
Tract is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that transcriptions will be accurate or that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free. Don't rely on Tract for safety-critical applications.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability under these terms is limited to what you paid us in the prior twelve months (which for free-plan users is zero).
Changes to the terms
We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be sent to the email associated with your account. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
